The Shining Tree Greenstone Belt is roughly equidistant (110km) from the prolific mining centers around Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Cobalt-New Liskeard and Sudbury in northern Ontario, Canada. Numerous occurrences of visible gold in quartz veins have been found in the last century near Shining Tree and several vein systems were developed as the Tyranite and Ronda mines.
